A BSW/Crow Public Auction Purchase out of the 2016 Keeneland September Sale in Book 3 for $100,000, the Chestnut Filly by Tapizar closed out her 2018 campaign as the obvious and deserving favorite of Eclipse Champion 3yo filly honors. Stringing together an unbelievable campaign of 4 back-to-back G1 victories (G1 Ashland, G1 Kentucky Oaks, G1 Acorn, G1 Coaching Club American Oaks), she put on her biggest show to date with a dominant win in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff in her first test against older fillies and mares. After an 18 month layoff, Monomoy Girl made an emphatic return to the races with a dominant win at CD before following up that effort with a win in the G2 Ruffian in 2020. Monomoy Girl would add another G1 win to her CV with a success in the La Troienne back at CD before becoming the fourth filly or mare to win multiple runnings of the G1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff. The very next day, Monomoy Girl sold through Elite Sales for $9.5 million at Fasig-Tipton’s Night of the Stars to Spendthrift Farm, setting a world record price for a racing/broodmare prospect. Purchased for $135,000 at the Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale, Jack Christopher broke his maiden on Travers Day in Saratoga by 8 3/4 lengths, becoming a TDN ‘Rising Star’ in the process for owners Jim Bakke and Gerald Isbister. In just his second start, Jack Christopher took the G1 Champagne at Belmont Park by 2 3/4 lengths for Bakke and Isbister, along with new owners Coolmore and Peter Brant, earning a 102 Beyer Speed Figure in the process, the highest for any 2yo since 2017.

Jack Christopher picked up in 2022 where he left off in 2021, capturing the G2 Pat Day Mile by an easy 3 3/4 lengths on Kentucky Derby day to kick off his 3yo campaign. “Jack” would notch his second G1 win in the Woody Stephens on Belmont Stakes day, recording a 107 Beyer Speed Figure while winning by 10 lengths. After a 3rd place finish in the G1 Haskell, Jack Christopher returned to sprinting, capturing his third G1 win when taking the H. Allen Jerkens while recording a 104 Beyer Speed Figure.

Purchased for $170,000 from the Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale in 2019, Goodnight Olive made her stakes debut a winning one, scoring in the G1 Ballerina, beating Champion Female Sprinter as well as fellow G1 winner Bella Sofia. Goodnight Olive capped a perfect 2022 season with a comprehensive win in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, wrapping up divisional honors along the way.

Goodnight Olive continued her winning streak in her first start of 2023, taking the G1 Madison at Keeneland, marking her 3rd consecutive G1 win. After an unlucky 3rd place finish in the G1 Derby City Distaff, Goodnight Olive got back to her winning ways in the G2 Bed o’ Roses at Belmont Park in the spring of her 5yo season. After a 2nd place finish in the G1 Ballerina which saw her earn a 108 Beyer Speed Figure, she would cap off her 5yo season by taking the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint for the second consecutive year. A BSW/Crow Public Auction Purchase on the Euro Venture’s first foray to the Tattersalls October Yearling sale, Aunt Pearl was purchased for 280,000 guineas out of Book1. She would make an immediate impact on the American racing scene when becoming a TDN ‘Rising Star’ with a 5 length success in her debut over the CD turf course. Making her stakes debut in the G2 Jessamine at KEE, she ran in similar fashion, going gate to wire in a 2 1/2 length success. Sent off as the favorite in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, she ran just as she had in her two prior races, recording another front running score while never seriously being challenged, beating a classy group of fillies by 2 1/2 lengths in the end.

Uni (GB) was privately purchased by BSW/Crow and Mandore Agency in April of 2017. She became a star in America, defeating males in the 2019 G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile, a win that earned her the Eclipse Award as Champion Female Turf Horse in 2019. The Breeders’ Cup Mile was one of four G1 victories for Uni in addition to back-to-back scores in the G1 First Lady at Keeneland in 2019 and 2020 as well as the G1 Matriarch at Del Mar in 2018. Uni earned $2,650,000 on the track and sold at the end of her 6yo season through Elite Sales for $4.1 million at Fasig-Tipton’s Night of the Stars in 2020 to White Birch Farm (Peter Brant).

Whitmore (G1W)

BSW/Crow privately purchased Whitmore for Head of Plains Partners after he won the Hot Springs Stakes at Oaklawn in March of 2017. In his 5-year-old campaign, Whitmore kicked off the year with back to back victories at Oaklawn in the Hot Springs Stakes and G3 Count Fleet Spring Handicap. Since then, he has paired back-to-back close seconds in G2 company in the G2 True North Stakes on Belmont Day and the G2 Belmont Sprint Championship Stakes and went on to win the G1 Forego on Travers Day- a “Win and You’re In” for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. In prep for the Breeders’ Cup, he ran a gut-wrenching second by a head in the G2 Phoenix and showed his mettle once again with a 2nd place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. At 6, Whitmore became the winningest horse in Oaklawn’s history, taking the Hot Springs Stakes for the third consecutive year and kept that streak rolling all year long to close out the year with a 3rd in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint. In her next out for the new partnership of Sol Kumin’s Madaket Stables, Heider Family Stables and W. & C. Heiligbrodt, Mia Mischief went wire-to-wire in the G2 Eight Bells on Kentucky Oaks day followed by a gutting 2nd place finish to MG1W Separationofpowers in the G1 Test. At 4, she started her season with a win at Oaklawn and a second in the Carousel (OP). Her biggest win to date came over KY Derby weekend when she romped home in the G1 Humana Distaff at Churchill. Since becoming the first Grade 1 winning filly by Into Mischief, she added another win in the Dream Supreme Stakes at Churchill to become a millionaire and was sold by ELiTE at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton November sale for $2,400,000 to Stonestreet Stables.

Privately purchased on behalf of Madaket Stables in early 2018, World of Trouble developed into a sprint phenom on both dirt and turf. Only off the board once in 13-lifetime starts, World of Trouble logged 9 victories including wins in the Grade 1 Carter (Dirt) and Grade 1 Jaipur (Turf). As a 3-year-old, World of Trouble ended his season with a narrow 2nd in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, falling 2nd by a nose to defending champion Stormy Liberal. At 4, World of Trouble earned his status as a dual Grade 1 winner and retired undefeated that year. He is now standing stud at Hill N’ Dale Farm in Kentucky through a deal brokered by BSW Bloodstock.

A BSW/Crow public auction purchase for $100,000 as a maiden from the 2016 Keeneland November Sale, Leofric went on to earn just shy of $1,000,000 in his 11 starts for new owner Steve Landers.

While he has never finished out of the money under trainer Brad Cox, LEOFRIC really rounded into form midway through 2018 year when he picked up his first Graded Stakes win in the G3 West Virginia Governors Cup. He then went on to finish a good 3rd the the G1 Woodward, win the G2 Fayette at Keeneland and earned his first G1 win in the Clark H. at Churchill this November. He is now standing at stud in New York.

Channel Maker was a BSW/Crow Private Purchase for clients Adam Wachtel and Gary Barber after his 3^rd place finish in the G2 Summer Stakes at Woodbine in September of 2016. Since his purchase, he has run in five Graded Stakes including a 2^nd place finish in the G3 Marine Stakes in May of 2017 and won the Breeders’ Stakes at Woodbine on August 20^th. Channel maker rounded out 2017 with a very close 2nd in the G1 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar. In his 4-year-old campaign, Channel Maker finished a fast closing 3rd in the G1 Kilroe Mile and found the winners circle once again in the G2 Bowling Green Stakes at Saratoga. In his most recent start, Channel Maker finished 2nd in the G1 Sword Dancer on Travers Day. He went on to win the G1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic at Belmont Park, notching his first G1 victory. Drain the Clock, privately purchased off a win in the Limehouse Stakes at Gulfstream Park, came back to win his very first start for his new owners, posting a dominant 6 1/4 length score in the G3 Swale at that same venue. In his first start around two turns, Drain the Clock nearly took them all the way before finishing 2nd in the G2 Fountain of Youth. Drain the Clock would get back on track in his very next start, notching his second graded stakes win in the G3 Bay Shore at Aqueduct.

Before his start in the G1 Santa Anita Derby, Spendthrift acquired the breeding rights to Authentic upon his retirement with original owners Starlight and Madaket staying in on the colt to continue his racing career. Authentic ran 2nd in the G1 Santa Anita Derby to Honor A.P. before going gate to wire in the G1 Kentucky Derby. Yoshida broke his maiden at Keeneland in April by 4 lengths and was named a TDN Rising Star for the effort. He has subsequently won the James W. Murphy Stakes at Pimlico on Preakness day and 2nd in the G2 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes. Margie’s Intention is a Louisiana bred filly who was a $185,000 OBS 2YO purchased by Corbin Blumberg out of the Sequel consignment for Baron Stable. Before her successful trip to Pimlico, she had exclusively run in Louisiana bred races at the Fair Grounds. She broke her maiden at second asking in her first start as a 3Yo, won an allowance less than a month later. She was second twice in stakes races in March and then received some time off of racing and transferred to the Brad Cox barn before the G2 at Pimlico.

Margie showed a ton of class in the Black Eyed Susan, taking plenty of dirt to the face and rallying to overtake a game Paris Lily in the stretch. There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to Margie’s Intention.

After taking an allowance race at Saratoga in the summer of 2019, she followed up that effort with a 2nd place finish in the G2 Glens Falls where she was only beaten 3/4 of a length. She added her first stakes win to her résumé with a success in the Zagora Stakes at Aqueduct that fall.

Upon retirement, Empressof the Nile was consigned by ELiTE and sold for $875,000 at the 2020 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale carrying her first foal by Quality Road.

Privately purchased in the summer of 2018 on behalf of Madaket Stables, Ten Strike Racing and Michael Kisber, Whereshetoldmetogo is perhaps most famous for a race he didn’t win. In the G3 Gallant Bob at Parx, Whereshetoldmetogo would run 2nd, but not before trying to maul eventual winner Firenze Fire in mid-stretch. This year, Whereshetoldmetogo has passed the post first in back to back stakes wins and though he was disqualified in the New Castle S., he got his revenge by taking the Frank Y Whiteley over a full field of older sprinters. He followed that win up with a second consecutive stakes score in the Dave’s Friend at Laurel to conclude his five year old campaign.

Whereshetoldmetogo began his six year old campaign in similar fashion, taking the Not for Love Stakes at Laurel, marking his third stakes win in a row. He earned his seventh stakes win in the Alapocas Run at Delaware after a short break. He avenged his disqualification in the 2020 New Castle Stakes by capturing the 2021 version before ending his season with a win in the Howard and Sonda Bender Memorial, marking his 9th career stakes victory.

Hello Beautiful (SW)

Privately purchased and syndicated in the summer of 2019, Hello Beautiful would record two stakes wins to finish her 2-year-old campaign while also posting a 95 Beyer Speed Figure, the fastest of any 2-year-old filly in 2019. At three, Hello Beautiful added a couple of more stakes victories to her name including blowout wins in the Maryland Million Distaff against older fillies and mares before finishing out her year with a win in the Safely Kept against her fellow 3-year-old fillies.

Hello Beautiful began her four year old campaign in much the same way she ended her three year old campaign, with a stakes win in the What a Summer, marking her third consecutive stakes victory. Hello Beautiful notched her 6th stakes win in the Alma North at Pimlico, scoring by 3 3/4 lengths. Hello Beautiful became a 7-time stakes winner after romping by 10 1/4 lengths in the Weathervane Stakes back at her home track, Laurel Park.

For the connections of trainer Jeff Mullins and owners Red Baron’s Barn and Rancho Temescal LLC, Tatters to Riches won impressively on debut at Del Mar as a 2yo and won the Shared Belief Stakes in his 2nd start at 3.

March X Press was a $90,000 Book 3 Keeneland September purchase by BSW/Crow on behalf of clients Ben Goldberg and Elliot Friman of Golconda Stables.

March X Press broke her maiden at Saratoga first time out in a $73,000 Maiden Special Weight after walking out of the gate and putting in a massive stretch run. She continued her running style only two weeks later when she broke slowly and bulled her way through an opening down the stretch to win the Bolton Landing Stakes at Saratoga by 1/2 a length.

Upon retirement, March X Press was consigned by ELiTE and sold for $330,000 at the 2019 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale carrying her first foal by Tapit.

A globetrotting winner on three different continents, Fanciful Angel (IRE) was privately purchased by BSW Bloodstock on behalf of clients Mike Dubb, Head of Plains Partners and Madaket Stables after his second place finish in the G1 Arlington Million. That was his first run in the U.S. and he backed that up with another huge effort when running 2nd to Beach Patrol in the G1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic. As he was gearing back up for a big 2018 campaign at Palm Meadows in the winter of 2017, a freak stall incident cut his life short. He will be missed by many.
